According to the BCI's records, many institutions have outdated information and lack a current approval or affiliation status, making it difficult for the BCI to perform its statutory duties.
The notice highlights that despite repeated attempts to contact these institutions, the BCI has been unsuccessful due to outdated contact information. The BCI is legally mandated to maintain an accurate and public-facing register of recognized CLEs, which is crucial for students, parents, and state bar councils to verify institutional status for admissions, academic progress, and enrollment purposes.
Therefore, the BCI is urging all CLEs to immediately update their particulars and approval/affiliation status on the BCI Portal. The circular underscores that the cooperation of these institutions is essential to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the public register.
